According to this
article on Slashdot, Helios has crashed off the coast of Kauai.
If you don't remember, Helios was Nasa's solar powered test plane. It was a huge flying wing with 62,000 solar cells. The plane held several records, and it's abililty to carry equipment up to 100,000 feet and keep it there for months had great promise.
I hope that this accident doesn't force NASA to scrap the project.
